Join us on Thursday 23rd April 2015 for our BOUNCE SPRING TALK with social entrepreneur Josh Littlejohn, founder of Social Bite and The Scottish Business Awards.
Josh is an inspirational speaker who will share his experiences in founding and growing a social enterprise business from scratch and why he wanted to build a business that benefited many more than just himself. Points that he will discuss in his talk include:
Why Aim High? You can carve out a place in the market just by being more ambitious or adventurous than anyone else.
Master the Art of Sales: All businesses will stand or fall with sales. You need to understand what makes people buy. Go and buy any book you can on the subject.
Just Start: Just get started on a new idea and take risks. New doors that were previously unimaginable to you will open after you have taken the plunge. Sometimes a leap of faith is required.
Make a Difference: Try and make sure your business makes a difference, particularly to those on the margins. The “Self Made Man” is a myth. We are only able to do what we do because of the opportunities we have been given from birth. Many people have not had such opportunity and stand no chance of making it in the current economic system, so, as business leaders we need to give them a hand up.
After Start-up Phase: Get away from the day to day practical side of your business. You cannot be the “doer” if it is to succeed and scale.
